The award is presented to the skater who places first at the highest contested level of Artistic Skating. The award originated in honor of Becky DeWitt, who introduced Artistic skating to the Ice Skating Institute. This year that award was presented to Madison Near.
Madison is a Senior at Saratoga Springs High School and has been skating since she was 8. “I just went out there and had fun today” explained Madison.
“I was comfortable with my program and excited to skate one last time before graduating.”
